Dave plays a very similar shot to what Sean is playing at the moment.
He uses a sv ryby pisces ball on the hole which is very similar to a pinky diver, every time he gets very close to the hole with a very easy safe putt. He has had a bounce out here or there but it is very rare!! Probably the safest shot to get a 2- always give you the ace chance as well!!

I play the shot across the lane by teeing off as far forward on the left as possible allowing it to trickle down the slope.
It seems to work well for me (-3 in Brit champs last year) but does run the risk of sticking at the top if you use a very heavy ball even though these are better for coming down the hill as they will rarely roll far past the hole. Something with about 70 weight is the best for this shot!!
Just another option!!

Can't argue with -3 over seven rounds but personally I've had enough of that shot... must have played it 100 or 200 times and I only ever recall 2 aces, you obviously play it way better than me!
I definitely think the major positive of Sean's shot is that you're never going to risk stopping up top so you can play it entirely nerve free, even if the tournament's riding on it

On 18, are you getting aces regularly or just having gimme 2s? And has it ever bounced out? I might get you to teach me the shot on Thursday...

No bounce outs to date, probably aceing it 1 in 4 at moment with other 3 usually within about 6 inches of the hole. A bit of focussed practice to nail the line and I would like to think I will push the ace stats up. Used to play the dead weight shot but given it's risk and the far from guarantee of an ace have given up on that one!!
even without pushing the aces up that's phenomenal returns for that lane, can't see anyone beating 1.75 as an average... and if you know you've always got a tap in 2 it's a really comfortable way to end the round. The way I'm playing it at the moment I find it the most nervy lane on the course by miles, even without the added pressure that might be riding on it in the final round or two
That's pretty much why I changed my shot - had a couple of rounds screwed up due to getting too clever and leaving the ball on the top of the rise. The shot I play now is not a touch shot and has a nice degree of leverage in terms of the line as the ball can rebound in by running either side of the hole. Most importantly I feel it's a very relaxed shot and the ace is a bonus without forcing the issue!!

I think it's time to try the AK golf ball shot on 7 as well. I got it 1 out of 3 today using the Klicker (with 2 tap ins) but as I am playing a few golf ball shots elsewhere and feel fairly comfortably with the weight and pace of the white monster i reckon its worth trying the AK rebound to see if I can increase my ace stats!!!!!!

Funnily enough I've now changed to your shot on 7, for pretty much the reason we're talking about with lane 18. It's consistently an easy 2 whereas some of the areas I've ended up in with the golf ball can be a bit scary... also I'm not acing the rebound shot nearly as much as I used to. Not sure whether thats down to the course changing slightly over the course of a year or if I've just lost my touch on that shot a little bit...

In that case I will probably stick with the Klicker - it's a very safe shot and does drop now and again. Same as you, I got it 3 out of 3 on day 2 of the BC's but just can't quite seem to get it consistently at the moment. With the K it's one of those shots that just needs more than your head tells you. A 120% shot - hard and with conviction!!

I'm sure it will all come together in the heat of battle at the weekend...

After a 4 hour delay courtesy of those pesky French strikers, Team Sweden finally touched down in the UK just before midnight. Thanks to some team GBR co-OPeration they managed to pick up their hire car to complete their trip to Hastings.

Not the best start to their 1st WAGM!!

Will catch up with them later at the course.

I can't stand those pesky French strikers, Thierry Henry pretty much single handedly kept Spurs on the wrong end of the North London rivalry for years. Never has a man been more deserving of the word "pesky".

AK47

Pesky is of course also a notable word for its appearance in the phrase "Aaargh, it be those pesky golfers again, isn't it"

Conditions in the build up to the WAGM were, to say the least, quite tough...

Cheers Andy, I finished Saturday feeling PANTS due to not finding an under par round for GB 2. So to start with the first two rounds on Sunday under par and with no dropped shots really helped (drop in wind speed too!)
The icing on the cake was to get my first ever sub 30 round in any competition (Got told off by Ted though for being selfish and not recording it in one of the team rounds!Laughing Oops!Rolling Eyes Sorry!)

I'd like to echo the Alien's sentiments, big thanks to Sean and Marion.

I really enjoyed my first WAGM, thanks to all my playing partners.....special mention to Mini Tiger who I was paired with for 6 rounds, for making it a fun event.

Not to mention a below par average too Scott, looked possibly unlikely after Saturday so well done!

Thought I would put this story on here as I don't know whether Rich or Pasi told it:

So there we were second round on Saturday and I had just tee'd off on the 8th and the ball had rebounded 4-5 inches short from the hole so I walked up to address the ball when this rather loud conversation begins......

"MUM, MUM look at that pond over there with the pirate ship in it!"
"Oh yeah.."
"Do ya fink there's fish in there Mum? I bet there's some big fish!"

Pasi looks up to them and saids "No,no there's no fish!"

"MUM, I'm gonna go and hav a look!" Next thing the sprite 7-8 yr old boy jumps over the railings and his sister also decides to follow with help from her mum!

I'm thinking, you're kidding right? Pasi's just told you there's no fish! And if you don't mind I'd like to putt this 2nd shot...Mad

The two run up to the pond have a look and.....

"Ow MUM, there's no fucking fish!"

And with that the two went to climb back out. Pasi and I offer to help but,
"Na thanks we can climb out on our own!"

Off they went completely oblivious to the fact that we were playing in the tournament..
Thankfully we carried on relieved that Moby-Dick was not rediscovered in the Pirate Hastings pond and I eventually putt out for 2. Phew! Surprised
