Paypal will be fine, but won't be accepted until 3rd May onwards - after last year we don't want anyone jumping the gun and the problems this caused - hence the need for the form (which won't go online before the 3rd). Once registration's open then as long as the paypal notes give the info on who the payment is for, then the form isn't necessary.

The countdown is now on...

Booking is now open exclusively for BMGA Tour Pro members and WMF registered players only for the 2011 World Crazy Golf Championship in association with Castle Golf (using the application form found at http://www.minigolf.org.uk/joomla/attachments/059_WCGC%202011%20APPLICATION%20FORM.doc).

The competition with take place across the weekend of 29th & 30th October and for the second year running will be played entirely on the Hastings seafront Crazy Golf course only.

There will be a total prize fund of £3000 for the event, including £1000 top prize for the winner!!

Entry to the competition is £35 and includes free practice on Friday 28th October along with a guaranteed six rounds of competition across Saturday and Sunday.

Booking opens for non BMGA Tour Pro's (spaces permitting) from Monday July 18th 2011.

Please note: The BMGA are handling all the entries and payment for the event this year. No entries will be accepted prior to the opening dates as listed above and all payments must be accompanied by the official Application form for the event. As there are limited spaces available please note payment secures entry - No refunds will be given.

With 75 entrants, this years event is now full.

A breakdown of entrants can be found at http://www.bmga.co.uk/results/2011/wcgc11/result.htm. If you are on the list but for some reason are now unable to participate then please let me know before next weekend. Likewise, if you have not entered then we are compiling a list of reserve players in the event that anyone pulls out – please contact me via chairman@minigolf.org.uk if you wish to be placed on the reserve list.

To accommodate the additional players this year, whilst retaining the one course format which proved to be so popular last year, we will be running the event this year with a rolling start (i.e. all players will start from hole 1 and play all 18 holes in order). The competition will start with the first group leading the event off at 9am on the Saturday and all players will play 4 rounds on the first day. Sunday will start at 10am with the groups being re-ordered in reverse leader board order.

The full starting order, times and groups for Saturday will be confirmed next weekend at which point a players pack containing all the information for the competition will be circulated to all the registered entrants.

Rolling start! I hope I'm luckier in the draw than I seem to be for the BO ie last or nearabouts!

Got a new PB on the Crazy this morning having a few rounds before work with Pumbah & Dave Gomm. On the board gleefully pushing off Phil's 31 with a 29 - which probably now makes me the overwhelming favourite in some eyes!

Just putting the finishing touches to the Players pack - should be emailing out the relevant link in a couple of hours.

Who knows I may even get a chance to get some practice on Wednesday - not been down to the course to play since the Cup Cake Classic - not picked up my club since the final hole at the BO (although did have a round in Hot Springs at the start of the US trip).

Awesome display again by the KMGC, I had great rounds with Tony & Adam yesterday & Adam was incredibly unfortunate not to be in a 4 way playoff for the title, AK your time will come! Rally good to see Scott make the 6th spot too, nice one DG!
Sean, Marion & Anna did a fine job with the seamless organisation & whoever has to follow that has their work cut out for them. The rolling start was much better I thought, many others agreed and I hope it continues!
I wonder if the KMGC will clean up in Sidcup & Dorridge? Odds on!

Congratulations to Michael Smith for winning the 2011 World Crazy Golf Championship in Hastings.

After 7 rounds of crazy golf, Michael won a three way sudden death play off against Andy Exall and James Rutherford to take the title, with Andy coming 2nd and James third.

Adam Kelly won a sudden death play against Tony Kelly to take 4th place and Scott Lancley beat John McIver in another sudden death play off to take 6th place overall.

Ruth Burke won the aces champion medal and Olivia Prokopova won the Womens title.

Thanks to everyone for taking part in this unique event and to all of the helpers and scorers throughout the event, with particular mention for Anna Green for marshalling the event so well. Special thanks to Marion Homer for running the event and to David and Marion Hartley for the wonderful hospitality and support.

A terrific competition and a superb display from the KMGC - brilliant stuff from Michael, Andy, Adam, Tony and Scott to take 5 out of the top 6 places and also a special mention for Alex for a cracking top 50 finish!
