cup cake Christmas classic 2009

Hi there,
Just starting to look at possible dates for this year's Cup Cake Christmas Classic.
We are away between Christmas and New Year, but are around in Hastings for New Year.
How does Saturday 2nd Jan or Sunday 3rd?
Let us know the best date that suits and we'll get some mulled wine on the go....
Shall we keep it just between Hastings and Kent? I think that was what happened last year.

Sunday probably the best day but happy for either - keep it Kent & Hastings I think... I look forward to defending my title(s) next year (the fabled duo of the Cup Cake Classic and the Easter Eggstravaganza!!).

I know what you mean - in some ways it seems like only yesterday we were lining up for the CCC2008 (details here) but then again it also seems like another era entirely - the KMGC (and our PHCGC chums) meeting up with that 'Chappers' fellow who had become a regular contributor on the old forum... it's always a real shame to see the season end but at least we know we are rest assured a quality send off at the KIT & KO to go out with a bang and lots of smiling faces as the sun sets in typically glorious November fashion in Margate!!

It really does seem a world away though, my first venture into this weird and wonderful sport I've fallen in love with.

Now...if only I could win an event or two in my rookie season...hmm

It may be worth provisionally calling it a 3 round comp - weather permitting!
I went down last Sunday with 'Hurricane' Matty Exall, we played a round on the mini & crazy each, although it wasn't raining at least 4 holes were unplayable due to water not draining off too well. The 14th on the crazy was hilarious! Dave & Marion take the winter off & the course isn't looked after as well with the old misery in charge!

Any news of a date for this yet?

Jo and myself have had a look at the details and we are aiming for the 3rd Jan (the Sunday). Full details to follow but we are looking at 3 rounds (for the day rate of £7.50 each) with a 10.30 ish start. Promises to be a great way to kick off the 2010 season.

More details to follow and look forward to seeing everyone on the 3rd!

The official invite to the CCC will be coming out on Wednesday and we are looking at a terrific turnout.

Just a note regarding 2010 BMGA memberships - we will bring along new cards for everyone playing in the CCC for those who would like to use some of their Christmas money to renew their membership (cash is far more convenient than cheques by the way!).

Rules update from Hastings HQ for Sunday.

The Cupcake Christmas Classic has been confirmed as "any ball for the first two rounds and then course ball only for the final crazy rules round"

And it looks like it will be cold but dry on Sunday which will be very reminiscent of the first CCCC..

Well done on a fine win to Peter, gutted I couldn't have tried to run him close in the final round, but I couldn't put the Hurricane in with anyone else for a crazy crazy round, there'd be carnage! Thanks to Ant for putting up with him in the first two rounds, you're a great sport!
Well done FB for the playoff win with that fantastic ace on the 2nd - great stuff!
Finally, thanks to Nick & Jo for organising, nice to get together again! Interesting choice of de-icing by the course manager on the 16th!
