Format for the competition will be confirmed nearer the time (partly dependant on number of players)

Match format will see the same rules as debuted at Puttermania 2 in Round 4 i.e. with both balls in play. Farthest from pin takes 'strike' once players have teed off at each hole. No marking. If the ball is in your line, you play around it or thru' it!!!

No gimmes allowed. Players toss coin to decide who tees off at first hole. Winner of any hole tees off first at next hole.

Also expect new play off rules for the knock out stages!!!

Rumours have it that the draw for the competition may be taking place tomorrow at the course... will post any links for a live feed if it goes ahead.

Forget the World Cup... this weekend will see a British Matchplay sweepstake taking place.

Names of all confirmed entrants will be placed in sealed envelopes. For a small fee on Sunday (prob £2) you can secure one of these envelopes.

But no-one will know who they have drawn until the event has finished (the envelopes remain sealed and secure for the duration, with players then opening their envelopes one by one after we finish).

The player with the top placed name will take 50% of the sweepstake fund

The player with the 2nd best placed name will take 30%.

And the player with the lowest placed name will take the wooden spoon of 20%.
