British Matchplay Championship - Boscombe Chine - Sunday 7th July

Where is everyone staying for this event?

We have no accommodation booked & have no idea where thoe best place to stay is!!

We are in the same situation. No Travelodges available the right side of Southampton, Premier Inn and all the B&B in Bournemouth seem to be fully booked. Anyone got any helpful tips?

I am in a b&b in Boscombe which is about a 5-10 minute walk from the course!!

anyone going to boscombe who has yet to find somewhere to stay look at clarendon lodge 3mins walk from course 5 star rated rave reviews were given about the breakfast there and the hotel cleanliness only 36 a night inc breakfast  all rooms en suite

What are the odds on yet another KMGC winner for the Matchplay? Pretty high I reckon - Will HIOK make it 2 in a row, emulating Freebirds 2010 & 2011 wins? Can Freebird make it a third win or will we see a new face lift the trophy? Promises to be another cracking event.

If you are playing but not yet entered can you let me know ASAP so I can work out the format for the day.

Also awaiting some confirmation regarding the pro-am on the Saturday at Sandbanks - should have the details posted on the BMGA Facebook/Twitter accounts over the weekend.

Sandbanks event now confirmed. Course decided that it's not pro-am, but a 'normal' strokeplay team pairs event - all with standard Sandbanks (lo-bounce) course balls - teeing off from 6pm - players must register at the course by 5.45pm on the day. Should be a great start to a great weekend of competitions.

Perhaps after playing in 30 degree heat all day, running the matchplay tournament and then having a 4.5 hour drive home, you might consider letting Sean have a bit of time before posting all the results?

They are available on the official BMGA website...however if it's too much effort to check there, Michael won;)

Nice to see John Moore in the final too, Emily get 3rd & a great 4th place for Mark! That must've been an evil temperature to play in, I think I'd have gone for a dip!

Super win yet again Michael against multiple matchplay runner-up (the new No.2 surely!) John Moore as well.

I couldn't get a sniff of a winner over twitter or facebook players accounts so resorted to posting at night on here - the one and only true minigolf forum! Seems like everyone went straight to sleep afterwards due to the great british sun!

Reading the breakdown of this year's event it sounded like a tight affair with lots of favourites (if there is such a thing in matchplay) not making it out of the groups. Good to see the newbies taking scalps too!

I'm very much looking forward to seeing everyone again at the Megabowl soon and completing my KMGC career grand slam of course.

Ah, the illustrious KMGC Grand Slam - Cup Cake Classic, Easter Eggstravaganza, Megabowl, KIT & KO - a veritable who's who of minigolf have picked up one or two of these... but only one player to date have managed all 5!!  

Looking forward to the Megabowl... always a great day and one of the toughest trophies to win on the KMGC tour
