3's the charm...

Great day. Great company. Great result (for me and the club).

Thanks to all the KMGC for making our 10th Open such as success and of course to all our honoured guests from across the minigolfing community.

Special thanks to the 2015 Kent Open Think Tank (DT, Alien and DG) for the behind the scenes work and to Helen and Emily for providing the backroom team that helped the day run so well.

Now just imagine what we'll conjure up for our Club's 10th birthday next season!!!!! cheers  cheers  cheers  cheers  cheers

Well done FB, an outstanding victory that was never in doubt after the third hole of the final round. Quality putting only matched by the quality of organisation we are all treated to at every KMGC tournament.
cheers
Thanks also to Marion, Helen & also little Emily - such a little sweety.
Always love Sidcup, one of my favourite courses & nice to see Glen still there swearing about the locals haha.
A good day for everyone & confirmation that the KMGC does it best.

Cheers Andy.

To top off a great day I managed to make Glen's day aswell by, I kid you not, blowing his wheelbarrow wheel with my car tyre inflator before we left the course. He was happy as a pig in sh*t as he strolled off, barrow in hand, to cause more mayhem amidst the locals!!!

Thanks to everyone who responded to the players survey. It is greatly appreciated as it is important to know what you all thought of the Kent Open.

23 players said yes with a variety of comments such as;

"Great event and well supported."
"An excellent event"
"A really warm welcome was given and great consideration for all players."
"Well organised, good fun, friendly people"
"A great day and an event fitting of such a landmark!!"
"As good day as you can get as a Minigolfer"

1 player said no with the following comment:

"Dislike the one ball format and the arena."

2) What did you think of the prizes?

We had 18 tick the 'Good Fun' box and 14 tick the 'Spot On' box with the following comments:

"Too much choc for one boy though Wink"
"Excellent"
"A brilliant variations on the prizes and encouraged all players to try their best."
"Good to have more prizes for different things!"
"Fun to have novelty prizes like 10th place"

1 player said there were 'Too many", commenting "Should be money prizes for the best performing players."

3) How did you hear about the tournament?

A good mix of Social media from the BMGA website and Facebook to Minigolf Club pages on the net.

A range of comments on this one such as:

"I like to support Club Open Events, and enjoy playing the course"
"Played in Hastings tournament 3 weeks earlier and wanted more experience"

"Ranking points"

5) Were you given adequate information during the tournament?

23 players said yes.

1 player said no, commenting "No mention of play-off rules in pre-competition notifications or on the day itself."

6) Would you take part in another event at the course?

22 said yes.

2 said no with the following comments:

"Maybe. A bit far to travel."
"Poor arena and ball. Would only play with ranking points available."

7) Let us know how the following factors contributed to your enjoyment of the event

A few adverse comments about the catering (speed and price) and the following other comments:

"Can't fault it."
"The course go from strength to strength in supporting the KMGC and this is a massive factor in the KO staying put."
"As always the more rounds the better"
"Fine as it was, format was great & the KMGC Ball is perfect for the course"
"The one ball format is not appropriate for an even which has minigolf ranking points."

And finally Would you like to join the KMGC?

With a fitting final comment to round off the survey:

"You'd be mad not to... "

A successful day in Sidcup all in all.

Thanks again and look forward to seeing you for the 11th Open in 2016!!!

Proof that you can't please all of the people all of the time Sad  still 23 out of 24 isn't bad cheers

AlienUK

Rest assured Star City will have:

- ranking points galore (if more people sign up) although it's unlikely there'll be enough to count for the Arena Stars
- as many balls as you can fit in your pockets
- play-off rules on a laminated sheet (or a page out of Mark's Pokemon notebook)
- a wad of cash for the top players
- not too many prizes

So we'll be going for 24 out of 24! OK, so we may overrun by 3 hours, and Bangolf might not work and there will be a delay while we try to find some pens, but hey ho

God knows what would have been put in a survey by some of these Arena Warriors on the PHCGO when Tim & Ted used to run it jointly - it was completely chaotic but good fun, which of course is what it is all about first & foremost.
