And in related matters, happy to announce that we will have a guest non playing ref at the BC's on Sunday.

Details to be confirmed in the Chairman's opening speech Saturday morning.

And finally...

Really looking forward to the weekend. Always great to catch up with the KMGC massive (and our friends from the other clubs).

Some exciting matches on the cards as well as the National titles to be fought for as well.

I'm sure our club will once again demonstrate all that is great about the game we love to play and be great to see us come away with the titles, the Dartford Crossing challenge trophy, and three more players into Round 3 of the Matchplay.

See you all in sunny Hastings!

VTK!

I may have actually shed a tear at that moving speech FB.  Will be down tomorrow from early (won't sleep).   The DCC is tomorrow??? Can't remember amongst all the trolling from the Essex lot.

Great work Martin, your really upping the ante!

I tried to use soft focus on Chris Harding to make it more flattering (rather than me getting it a bit wrong.......). That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

Michael's shock retirement announcement might have been influenced by the ongoing worldwide media campaign bearing the imminent threat of the Force awakening before the year's out....or so I'm told... Twisted Evil

Great film work Martin, and thanks to the EC for their exemplary work over the weekend!

Next time: more action footage (maybe during practice too), more interviews during the tournament  and I'll try to get the GoPro on a tripod in a hedge somewhere.  Volunteers needed!

Despite a wider number of players getting better averages on the pirate course at this year's BC, I still didn't see the expected improvement in scoring from our top players that would rival scores from the International players expected at the WAGM. Hopefully the greater depth of players shooting 'average' average scores will give us a better chance in team format rather than scooping any individual prizes. We shall see!

AlienUK

From a personal view I think we are seeing big improvements from the newer (post 2012) players, in playing style (as we have watched the seasoned veterans), playing under pressure and also due to better ball choices. I hit a 30 a couple of times this weekend (despite being told by a veteran on Saturday I would never be able to - I will mention no names......) and with the right conditions at the WAGM I hope to see some blue scores (following practice on certain holes/lanes).

To say I can't wait for the WAGM is an understantement and I am sure we all feel the same. It's going to be a great tournament.
