It's 3 rounds on the Explorers course so only 18 holes to master!

Good stuff. That one doesn't have the killer 16th hole volcano, right?

No - the Explorers course does have the dreaded 17th hole - the Volcano - the signature hole on the course.

Settle for a 2 Alien, lay it up softly & drop it in. At least that's the plan, I took a 6 trying that last year! Smile

I got 3s the last 2 times (roll up, not quite enough, tap then in) but that was more luck than judgement!

Be even cheaper for 2013 for players that play this year and already have a ball (prob just a fiver). Now that's a bargain!!!!

Nice ball! For the hard of thinking (me) how does a minigolf ball differ from a regular ball that you would use? (and I assume it has dimples?)

Hi AlienUk

As VC welcome to the Kent Forum. No dimples as the ball will keep it's line better and we're not planning to leave the ground. Bonus to this ball is that it's smaller then a golf ball so when it comes to the cups gives us a better chance of it going in (he saids with his fingers crossed! VC has lots of nightmare momments with this course.)

Got the opportunity to play with the ball today....

I love it!

The Sidcup Ad Hoc MiniGolf Society (as we are now calling ourselves) will hopefully get to the course on the Saturday afternoon for a bit of practice. There are 3 of us (Brian, our leader, you can't miss him), me (medium) and my son Ollie (tiny). If we can get a ball then to give them a go (or if there is somewhere online to buy one) that would be great.

Kent Open Latest News:

1) Went over to the course today to try "the ball" and was delighted to meet 2 of our novice entrants - Martin and Ollie - 2 of the Sidcup 3!! They now have a Kent Open ball to practice with and will no doubt be used to their first minigolf ball aquisition by next weekend.

2) Had a couple of rounds with the ball. Time to pat myself on the back - I don't think I could have come up with a better multi-purpose ball if I had unlimited time and funds. The KO ball is AWESOME!!!! Need to give it a bit more (or go for the direct shot) on holes 1 & 15 but otherwise it is perfect for the course - you won't find a better ball for example for the 18th in my opinion, no matter how many balls you use.

Put it this way, I think I may have now retired my Klickers!!! I kid you not. A small minigolf ball, with a decent bounce, and a nice bit of weight... the Official KO ball is the new Klicker!!!!!!!!!!

See you all next weekend for the KIT and can't wait Very Happy

So in that case, you won't mind giving me your white and yellow Klickers then?

Sean, very good to meet you yesterday. We tried the ball out today (taking advantage of the Winter Pass). Took a bit of getting used to, we used the course putters which worked better. Just above 40 each round with 5 each time on the flipping volcano! Definitely different to a regular ball but very consistent so we liked playing with it after about 9 holes. Roll on next week.

Look forward to seeing you again next weekend.

Martin, one final point - we need minigolf nicknames for you, Ollie and Brian so we can update the results page for the Kent Open!!! Give it some thought and let us know who's who!!

We noticed you all had nicknames. I am Alien (my surname is Greenhead, hence the name), Ollie is happy to be the Babyface Assassin, Smithy is going for "Cricket".
