Hi All - I am now partnering Alan Stormin' Norman at the Green Doubles, but as yet we don't have a name!!
I am calling on my friends to suggest a good name for us please!!

There may be trouble ahead...

Got Fencing work at a SE Regional Champs at Epsom and the Womens Sabre World Cup event at Crystal Palace over the weekend I'm afraid - might be able to swing by in the afternoon to cheer on the KMGC!

Much as we would all appreciate Tel's presence, 12 teams will be a lot easier - 3 groups of 4, round robin. Top 2 in each group go through to top 8 along with 2 best 3rd place pairings - these 8 play qtrs, semis & finals (losers play off against each other so places 1-8 decided by 3 rounds). Remaining 4 pairs from groups go into one final group of 4, round robin (3 matches) - for final 9-12th positions.

6 matches for everyone - best team wins!!

I was at The Green for some practice today and Nick is planning to run the tournament on Sunday according to the 'Swiss' format.

I don't fully understand how it works but basically there will be an unseeded draw for the first round of matches and after that it is all done by a ranking system until the final eight play in knock-out quarters, semis and final.

There is also another pair entered from The Green so if Tel and Gareth withdraw that leaves us with 13 pairs.

No doubt all will be revealed tomorrow!

Well played Adam & Tony for taking the runner up slot yesterday, having dispatch Michael & Myself in the semis.

Special mentions and plaudits for Marion (and Alan) for destroying both Peter & Jon - 6 & 5 - and also Brad & Chris - 9 & 7 - in the group stages before being stopped in their tracks by Michael & myself in the quarter finals.
