KMGC Matchplay Competition!

If, like me, you're excited about the new BMGA Matchplay Comp this year, but sad to see the passing of the beloved old format (he types whilst wiping away a silent tear) - fear not!
I propose the:
KMGC Matchplay Competition
a round robin format (or possibly two leagues if numbers are high) with games being played at Strokes (the home of Minigolf) on KIT days.
Everyone entered plays everyone in the league or their league, with the two highest points scorers (or seperate league winners) playing a final, possibly after the Megabowl?
It would be free to enter & play, you'd just need to be committed to playing a few of the KIT days & allocating time in those days to get matches played. Results would be decided after 18 holes or sudden death holes if tied after 18! Great stuff! Matchplay really is good fun & very tense!
I will ensure there's a good prize for the winner & runner-up, maybe a perpetual trophy too for future events a la Megabowl.
The KMGC always do things well & with fun, this could be another feather in it's already highly feathered cap!
Anyone interested? We have until the opening of Strokes to get the names & do the draw!

Oh go on..put my name in the feathered hat then Mr.X aka The Drawmaster...

Nice one DG! There were some good scores being posted by all in the latter half of last year's KIT, suggesting that this year the scores will be very low, also, KMGC Matchplay games will be very tough! Wicked!

I reckon it'd be a good idea to do the draw at the home of Minigolf on the first KIT day too!
Obviously No seedings so there may be a group of death if there's two leagues!

It looks like we may well have the full list of competitors now AK & TK have entered the fray!

Just to reiterate, once the draw for the groups is made, the games can be played at any location by mutual consent.
It's just a bit of fun to add to the calendar but I have a feeling some cracking games will be hard fought on the Strokes course!
May be a great game to be had at Hither Green too, what a leveller!
Chief Drawmeister FB will be happy to do the draw I'm certain, once we reckon we have no more entrants!

It is usually in August TK, plenty of time to get the games in.

Definately count me in please! I'll be looking forward to improved playing with my new shorter putter!!

I sort of prefer matchplay to strokeplay anyway, so it'll be interesting ...

Reckon the draw should be on a weekend so we can have a KMGC party at Homer Towers... thoughts please...

Any date would be ok for me, my social calendar's been empty for 7 years. (Eldest child is 7 yo)

I think that Ian Pinnock (who came 16th in 2009 Kent Open - Top non-BMGA player) is getting in touch with Sean to join KMGC and take part in our KMGC events as well!

Given the numbers of us going to the Masters (which makes me wonder - what should a gathering of KMGC'ers be called - a group sounds far too boring... anyway I digress) it would make sense to get the draw done before then and give us the chance of kick starting the KMGC Matchplay in our first ourdoor event of the year. Given the timings it might need to be an online live draw for everyone to watch rather than getting over to Homer Towers.... we're easy either way (and we will definitely sort out an evening soiree at some point in the very near future)
