So after lunch, the format changed to a pairs matchplay format. A single ball in play per pair alternate shot. i.e. forsomes.
With the TO standing down, the pairs were decided by the finishing positions of the individual event.
Teams:
Brian & Adrian
Martin & Will
Sean & Tony
Steve & Seth
Dave & Chris
we followed the BMGC team competition format to decide the team seeds, this as over 9 holes strokeplay.
no1 seeds Steve & Seth 18
no2 seeds Sean & Tony 19
no 3 seeds Dave & Chris 19
no 4 seeds Martin & Will 20
no 5 seeds Brian & Adrian 22
prelim match:
Martin & Will beat Brian & Adrian 1 up after 9 holes
Semi Finals:
Steve & Seth beat Martin & Will 1 up after SD
Sean & Tony beat Dave & Chris 1 up after 12 holes
So we came to two finals:
The Loser Challenge:
This consisted of the three beaten pairs both playing 18 hole strokeplay over 18 holes, both scores counting.
This turned out to be an extremely close affair.
Brian & Adrian 75 shots
Dave & Chris 76 shots
Martin & Will 77 shots
Brian & Adrian both took home a white choclolate snowman as their spoils of war.
The FINAL
With kinder chocolates and a penquin soft toy up for grabs the final was hard fought affair with perhaps the shock result of the day...with Steve & Seth the number 1 seeds (the SS) getting the better of the no 2 seeds and pre final favourites Sean & Tony 2&1.
That was it for the day, already looking forward to the Cup Cake Classic
