all new UNOFFICIAL kmgc champions cup leader board

hi everyone welcome to the all brand new kmgc premier league table this league table or leaderboard is only open to kent players and will run in line with all bmga and kent events the idea is to give our players something extra to play for come end of november so you will still get your bmga sor and order of merit points as normal this is just an exclusive league open to kmgc only where kent members will be competing for the premier league trophy against their fellow kent buddies giving more different people a chance to win something so good luck everyone vtk .

15 under 30 every round below 30 scored 100 points
16 most par saves so most 2s scored 100 points
17 perfect par round so every every perfect 36 scored 18 2s 50 points

all points gained for various sub rounds are rounds scored with your handicap allowance

well done to will donnely for topping the table after two events with his 2 handicap also a great well done to tony kelly after a poor start at the cup cake used his 1 handicap to put himself right back in the mix and a deserved 2nd place 640 points and great play by adam and sean to get right back on track after very plain cup cake showings sean going from 80 to 320 points and adam 110 to 315 well done guys
its still early days yet plenty of twists and turns yet plenty of more big tournaments to come plenty more people to make their 2013 debut so to all my kmgc friends good luck for the rest of the sesason

An extensive piece of work from Perfect Par and as Mr X points out, a fair bit of admin to keep these upto date (and for anyone to understand how they score).

Whilst I applaude the efforts and the premise behind the idea from Alex, and am always happy to support initiatives that get people playing, I do have a couple of points from my perspective regarding this new league set up:

1) This is an unofficial league as it is not run and maintained by KMGC HQ - the KMGC endorse and support the two official BMGA ranking systems, with the SOR in particular a great way of recognising current season performance (as well as of course, BMGA event placings!).

2) I am all for players having targets and the BMGA Season Only Rankings and Official Rankings are great measures for this as they recognise specific improvements such as PB's and round by round improvements. Incentives to perform are great but I do not see the overall merits of any ranking system, specifically brought in to encourage participation that has players on minus points (our new players) and already over 2000 points behind the leader after 2 events.

3) As it stands, the league will basically mirror the overall standings in the main official BMGA rankings (SOR or OOM) so I would suggest a rethink on the scoring (and perhaps it's just me but I think it might be worth simplifying the scoring criteria to help players understand the rules).

In the BMGA world, the SOR will be updated prior to the Crazy Golf Open and the new Official Order Of Merit will be released as well after the event in Hastings.

Hopefully we'll see a strong KMGC turnout (a done deal I thnk given that we already have over 50% of the entrants from the premier minigolf club in the UK!!!!)

some very good points coming from freebird . yes the kmgc premier league does mirror the bmga sor but the idea of the kmgc premier league is to have something running that is only open to kmgc members something extra for people to play for something that will give a wide range of our members all with diffrent abilities a chance to have a crack at winning the trophy by end of november . another good point raised was that the scoring system was too complicated and left certain people on minus points after two events and others leading the table too easily fair play if say michael does well enough to lead by miles but as the current system stands others are not being given chance to compete with him or one or two others so the ranking system will be made easier to understand and fairer

As in Golf a handicap system would be a way of equalling things up between all standards, but how to go about it's another thing!

the handicap system was invented taking a list of each persons best round scores from all last seasons competitions and each persons worst scores from all last seasons competitions and then each persons best average overall round score was compared with their worst average overall score and the difference between the two averages is someones handicap so for example michael smith had a best average overall last season of 30.071 and a worst of 36.00 which makes 6 difference so michaels handicap would be +6 which would mean after every round 6 points would have to be added so a round of 30 would become 36 but since studying michaels scores from last season i feel +6 is too much handicap to give away so he has dropped to +4. and for all the non plus handicappers you deduct points at the end of your round so if your a 7 handicap and shoot a 36 that 36 becomes 29 . so people thats how it all works . everyones handicaps will get reviewed after every couple of events anyone seen to be struggling will go up a couple of points and anyone who is playing much better than their current handicap will come down a few points . so thats it folks good luck in the very 1st kmgc premier league

the scoring system is the same system as mentioned at the bottom of the cup cake leaderboard but all points gained are based on scores gained with peoples handicaps included sean
