good evening everyone hope you all enjoyed wroxham barns for those that went and had a safe journey home im sure your dying for the wroxham barns champions cup results, updated leaderboard and handicap list but first iam going to give you all a simple run down of how the champions cup system work as i have had someone not quite sure how it all works .

1 remember all scores obtained in a champions cup event are based on your handicap allowance
so if your handicap is a straight 1 for example and you shoot a 35 then the 35 becomes 34 -2 so if
the event is 3 rounds and you shot 35,30 32 for example without your handicap with your handicap those scores
would be 34,29,31 leaving you finishing on -14 for the tournament so that is how the scores/results are done/obtained

2 now on to the points system remember its all about your handicap points are scored based firstly on your finishing position so for 1st place you would pick up 150 points 2nd 100 3rd 50 4th 30 5th 20 6th 10 points now your finishing position in an event is based on your handicap included score so if you shoot 34,29,31 -14 with your handicap and nobody beats that obviously you will win the event and collect 150 points your scores with your handicap allowance are the bottom row of scores entitled gross/with handicap at the end within the results leaderboard .

3 now on to the round score points again all handicap related so for example if you shot 30 ,35,42 of course with your handicap allowance you would get 145 points so thats 75 points for the 30 a sub 32 round 50 points for the 35 a sub 36 round and 20 points for the 42 a sub 50 round totalling a 145 points remember all round score points gained are based on your gross/with handicap scores not net scores as you will see in previous result leaderboards the point scoring is on page 1

4 now on to the extra points you can earn these are non handicap related firstly there is points for senior, junior and lady so for example if you were top senior according to the champions cup result leaderboard you would get the top senior points 75 points added on to your total round score points same applies with junior and lady points 75 points for these catergories .

then we have the aces prize this is not handicap related if you shoot most aces outright in an event thats another 100 points to your total
then finally the perfect par round points again non handicap related if you shoot 18 2s thats an extra 50 points on your total if you shoot 3 perfect 36s thats 150 points gained then we have points for most 2s 100 points for most 2s scored

5 so to sum it all up as shown in the examples above after an event you could finish 1st thats 150 points ,145 for your tournament round scores 75 for top senior ,most aces 100 and one perfect par round 50 = 520 points

hope this helps everyone wroxham results to follow

hello once again the moment you have all been waiting for the results from wroxham barns so here is the results leaderboard

1 chris wood (9)
37,46,39,35,40,39,37 +21 net
28,37,30,26,31,30,28 -42 gross/with handicap

2 sean homer (1)
32,30,32,35,32,33,31 -27 net
31,29,31,34,31,32,30 -34 gross/with handicap

mark wood (8 )
43,34,39,42,41,42,33 +22
35,26,31,34,33,34,25 -34 gross/with handicap

3 tony kelly (1)
33,33,35,32,34,33,31 -21 net
32,32,34,31,33,32,30 -28 gross/with handicap

4 will donnelly (3)
38,39,39,36,32,32,30 -6 net

5 michael smith (+1)

34,35,32,33,36,33,31 -18 gross/with handicap

numbers in brackets = a players current handicap

so there you have it the final wroxham results well done to chris wood winning with a -42 score line and to sean homer on coming second on -34 with his 1 handicap equaling mark woods score of -34 but mark playing off a much higher handicap great achievement and to will donnelly on an amazing comeback on day 2 and a worthy comeback on day 2 from michael smith well done to him and everyone that took part see you all at hastings for the wagms and practice beforehand hopefully . updated leaderboard to follow

just to say a big thankyou to everyone who played last weekend secondly a big well done to michael smith for reaching the summit of the champions cup leader board after playing off a plus handicap all season he has been racking the points up averaging just over 435 per event a mean feat with a +3 handicap and also a big well done to dave donnelly on winning the wagm and bago with his 9 handicap his handicap shot right up due to poor performance at splashpoint, blue water and did not play wroxham so un like others his handicap handicap stayed the same in time for wagms .also a big thankyou to marion for running the tournament brilliantly as always sadly no champions cup points awarded for organisation but we hope to see her pick up lots of points at boscombe she is a decent matchplayer beware people.

regarding the matchplay yes the champions cup will run  but your handicaps will not be in use and the normal point scoring will not apply other than points totals for top senior, junior and lady which is 75 points for each catergory also points for finishing positions will apply so 150 for 1st 100 for 2nd 50 for 3rd 30 for 4th 20 for 5th and 10 for 6th as normal plus the matchplay points system will come in to play nice and simple 50 points for every match you win and 20 for a draw nothing for a loss.

also the last champions cup event this season is world crazies  so you have 4 events left inc matchplay to increase your points totals good luck everyone .the prize ceremony will take place after the kent open at sidcup in the event two or more people finish on same points there will be play offs sudden death to decide final finishing positions.

just a reminder of prize  breakdown

1st place=  £30+ the champions cup trophy + minigolf ball
2nd place = £20 + minigolf ball
3rd place   = £10 + minigolf ball
4th place   = £5   + minigolf ball
5th place    = £2   + minigolf ball

top junior £10 gift voucher
top lady  £10  gift voucher
top senior £10 gift voucher

ok folks thats it for now look forward to see some or all of you at matchplay until then  VTK

To be honest anyone trying to add a new twist to things should be applauded & the fact that Chris came 2nd proves that it did work up to a point, unfortunately for all of us Michael sets a standard that we all struggle to reach & is a worthy champion. Well done Michael & well done Tiger!

Breakdown

sunny Thanks to all the organisers and helpers for the 4 competitons I have entered. Well Done to Michael for setting the standard. Something to aspire too.Well done to all the podem winners yesterday. Well done to Tiger for his special efforts it put a nice varience on things. Well done to DT for the Kent club member of the year.Especially well done to Chris Smith for showing the rest of us that the more expereiced can still do a job, having personally witnessed two of those rounds.

In memory of what might have been during my three rounds, I am thinking in good old Tiger style of changing my nickname to reflect what happened in two of my three rounds. It brokedown and i was in need of a fourth emergency service.I am just seeing what it looks like in lights and then I will comfirm. AA = " BREAKDOWN" Sad

hello everyone and welcome to the champions cup 2014 hope you all had good xmas and new year .Last year saw the 1st ever champions cup take place which is a season long event in which people score points on various key catergories and also there is a handicap system in place to give everyone a even chance at finishing in the prize stakes or even win the title. So the 1st ever champions cup did prove a sucess and british no1 michael smith managed to lay his hands on the trophy after playing off a minus handicap all season pretty impressive indeed, and with serveral lower ranked players making the prize ranks last season the champions cup proved that its purpose was served.

now on to the 2014 champions cup and after a sucessful 2013 the 2014 champions cup promises to be even better with 4 new kmgc members entering the fold and more ways to collect points this season its a great time to be part of the champions cup.
now on with the show hope you all enjoyed the cup cake classic ,but who found it a piece of cake and who didn't
find out with the results and leaderboard from the 1st event of 2014

                  cat 3     +8

so thats it   quite simply to work your points totals out just add up all catergory points including finishing points that apply to you . handicaps cat 2 players may deduct 5 off every round they play so a 36 would become 31 and cat 3 players can deduct 8 off every round they play so 36 would become 28  and there is no longer an allowance  for cat 1 players   .
Good luck to all going to star city.

ps look out for news on the all new champions cup doubles competition taking place this season
