AlienUK wrote:Very exciting with a day to go until a few practice rounds.

Re the course ball question, does it have to be one from Hastings or can I use, for example, a Sidcup course ball?

These things keep me awake at night!
Martin, it has to be a Hastings course ball (but you can pick one tomorrow and hold onto it to use on Sunday for the main event).

See you tomorrow!

A good (alebit cold!) day at the seafront today.

The KMGC qualifier saw 8 players take to the greens - Michael, Will, Chris & Mark in one group and myself, Scott, Dave and Alex in the other.

Scores on the doors after 1 round of strokeplay:

Sean - 32
Scott - 35
Dave - 35
Michael - 36
Will - 38
Alex - 40
Chris - 42
Mark - 43

So the team for the first club fixture against the CMGC (Emily, Brenda, Chris and James) was:

Michael, Dave, Scott & Will (I dropped myself to film the 18 holes of drama!)

In the end, the KMGC were victorious by 1 with the match going all the way to the final hole. Well done chaps - 3 points in the bag!!!! VTK!!!

Footage and commentary (with a sight KMGC bias) will be published at some point in the near future.

In the other match, the LMGC beat the MMGC by 2 at the final hole as well.

Congratulations to Craig Patterson (Cambridgeshire Minigolf Club) for winning the first outdoor event of the season at the legendary Arnold Palmer Crazy Golf course at Hastings seafront.

Craig won by 1 shot from the Kent Minigolf trio of Tony Kelly, Will Donnelly and Alex Pragnell. After a three way play-off, Tony came 2nd with Will 3rd and Alex 4th.

Alex won the category 2 title, with Paul Johnson (Midlands Minigolf Club) 2nd and Chris Jones (London Minigolf Club) in third place.

In category 3 Mark Wood (Kent Minigolf Club) won with Emily Gottfried (Cambridgeshire Minigolf Club) second and Dave Gomm (Planet Hastings Crazy Golf Club) 3rd.

Adam Kelly
(Kent Minigolf Club) won the Category 1 aces prize, with John Moore (Midlands Minigolf Club) taking the category 2 aces prize and David Pragnell (Kent Minigolf Club) winning the category 3 aces prize.

The event was open to all players and mirrored the format of the second day of the World Crazy Golf Championships - 2 rounds of strokeplay followed by a final 3rd round using the Crazy Crazy rules - with all competitors using the standard course ball.

However unlike the WCGC's, all players played this final round and got the chance to experience the fun and mayhem of having all balls in play at once (something that only the top 18 players get to enjoy at the World Championship).

Full results from the event can be found at http://www.bmga.co.uk/2013BCGO/result.htm

Photos from the event can be found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/13680867@N02/sets/72157632907530808/ courtesy of the KMGC

Alos congratulations to Tony Kelly for winning the first Hole-In-One Charity Challenge on Sunday afternoon between rounds 2 & 3 with the only ace at hole 13 in the challenge.

Well done to all KMGC winners, a fair few & new names too - great stuff! Despite the pale ghostly figure that I sent down in my place playing rubbish, I still had a good day & it was nice to see everyone. Kids, listen to Uncle X -stay away from alcohol!
Thanks to Sean, Marion, James & all at Hastings & involved with the comp for the usual high quality org!
A final special mention has to go to Alex - Mr Perfect below Par, he's been threatening to do it & up until now it hasn't happened, yesterday he arrived & delivered - good man!! cheers cheers cheers

Excellent report. It's almost like I was there (which I was for the first 13 holes until frostbite kicked in).
