Are you sitting comfortably?
Then I shall begin...
The 2012 Kent Invitational Tournament is coming back bigger and better for the new season. After another tense and exciting season the 2012 event is going to be even closer and more competitive leading to the crowning of the best of the best - the KIT champion.
The 2 phase structure will remain and Phase 2, the KIT final on Saturday 10th November, will remain exactly the same as this year (2 rounds on Lost Island Explorers added to the aggregate score from phase 1 - lowest total wins the KIT).
The difference for 2012 is all about phase 1.
There will be 7 official rounds for the 2012 KIT with all players starting with a strokeplay score of 40 for each of the rounds (10 lower than in 2011, to keep the overall phase 2 starting scores as close as possible).
Each of the seven rounds will be based around a formal competition (some KMGC specific and others on the full BMGA tour). Players will take their lowest round score from each of the 7 events to count as their round total. Each event will see a KIT round winner proclaimed (no extra points or bonuses for this apart from the obvious kudos of being the 'best' KMGC KIT player at the event). This way all of the KIT scores will be formally recognised and level the playing field for the KIT final.
So the 7 rounds are as follows:
ROUND 1 - Cup Cake Classic - Hastings Seafront Crazy (Monday 2nd Jan)
ROUND 2 - Easter Eggstravaganza - tbc but planning on holding it on Easter Sunday (9th April) again at Bluewater Smugglers.
ROUND 3 - British Masters - Splash Point Mini Golf (Sunday 22nd April)
ROUND 4 - British Championship - Pirate course (Sat/Sun 23rd/24th June)
ROUND 5 - Megabowl 5 - Strokes (Early Sun in August - date tbc)
ROUND 6 - British Open - Strokes (Sat/Sun 22nd/23rd September)
ROUND 7 - World Crazy Golf Championship - Hastings (Sat/Sun 28th/29th October)
Job done - roll on the 2nd!!!!!
VTK!
