Just returned back from an evening at the Green with a few of the usual suspects (The Force, HIOK) where Nick is going to be running weekly competitions to help support new players (and also give us older hands a decent work out thanks to a crafty handicap system that's in place).

It is running every Thursday from around 6-9pm - with a bit of practice and a couple of rounds in tournament mode (currently on Easy).

Be great to see a few of the KMGC in attendance - worth posting on this thread if you are planning on going over so we can all see who's going to be around.

Congrats to our latest forum member - Seth 'Clockwork Orange' Thomas for winning tonights event - and pocketing a few quid in the process - needless to say his handicap will be cut for the next event!! cheers

A nice relaxed fun evening, I hope to start coming up more regularly soon. I've now had my handicap slashed, but not as much as Marion's! Smile

Live a lot alive & sleep when you're dead Michael!
That's what Bon Jovi said anyway, what they meant was - play until mid November then take a break! Wink

I just hope that relations in the Kelly household are ok after all the fun (or not!)of the handicaps last night.

Tony definitely deserved to win - it wasn't as if he chose his handicap but Adam was fantastic. Three really good rounds. And I'm sure Tony might give him £5 of the prize money?

And well played FB in that final kit round. Long live Hole 6.

Is the infamous Nutters with Putters already improving Tony's game?

From an educational/coaching point of view, it doesn't really deliver, however, if you want an insight into minigolf over the last 10 years in GB, or indeed, the origins of the sport, from the minds of Ted and Tim (!!) it is worth reading. Don't buy a copy though, Andy E has 2 copies - I'm sure he could do you a deal!

I have one that I purchased, another unread with an unopened copy of the DVD that I was lucky enough to win in the PHCGO last year. You can have the book Michael - good deal eh? Very Happy

I am actually quite enjoying Nutters with Putters. I thought it made a very suitable birthday present from Adam, especially as I spent my birthday playing mini golf at Clambers. I have only dipped into it so far and read the first couple of chapters, but it is certainly entertaining. Opinionated, yes, but then you would expect nothing less. As long as you don't take it seriously, it is good fun and as DT says quite interesting on the origins of mini golf.

We're not going to make it down to The Green this Thursday (or for the next couple of weeks), but AK47, HIOK and I were talking about having a few KIT rounds at The Green on Saturday afternoon. Is anyone else interested?

Congrats to Alan 'Stormin' Norman for taking his first career victory at the Green tonight following a play-off decider with Christopher Smith. Both carried a +8 handicap per round and after the 2 rounds were tied on 59 (75 overall). Freebird (with no handicap) came third with a combined score of 63 - which included the lowest ever tournament round (admittedly on Easy) of 27 - 9 aces and 9 2's (Aces on 4, 5, 6, 8, 12, 14, 16, 17 & 18).

I also had a decent round of 32 on Hard with HIOK - nothing too remarkable apart from a 5 in a row ace-fest taking in holes, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 - not too shabby if I say so myself!!!
