The KMGC are ready to challenge for a record breaking fifth Club Championship title.

Leading the charge on the 24th at Strokes Adventure Golf will be the Kent Spitfires – Club Captain Sean ‘Freebird’ Homer will be heading up the Spitfires along with Adam ‘AK47’ Kelly, Andy ‘Mr X’ Exall and Marc ‘The Force’ Chapman. All four players have previously won titles at the course and been part of winning Spitfire line-ups in the event. A formidable team indeed.

The Kent Hurricanes – captained by Scott ‘Donkey Gringo’ Lancley – feature a KMGC debutant Paul ‘The Overtaker’ Johnson, along with Tony ‘TK Max’ Kelly and Ed ‘Iron Putter’ Haynes. An experienced line-up and with the home advantage of playing on the fabled greens of Strokes, the Hurricanes will be looking to lift the title for the club.

Finally, the Kent Hellcats – led by Marion ‘Double Trouble’ Homer – feature two more KMGC players making their debut for the club, Owen ‘Jackpot’ Johnson and Dean ‘The Normal One’ Cripps Humphrey (also making his Club Championship debut). And last, but by no means least, the Hellcats are completed by Matty ‘the Hurricane’ Exall and will be aiming to cause major upsets as they battle for the title on the 24th.

A fantastic line-up and a terrific bunch of players – destiny awaits for the KMGC.

Viva the Spitfires.

Viva The Hurricanes.

Viva The Hellcats.

British Club Championships latest news: The final details of the format for the weekend as agreed by the EC have been released (regarding play offs and practice) as follows:

1) Play offs

If these is a need for any play offs for the placings after the group stages or more likely to settle any of the semis or finals the format will be as follows:.

The organisers have nominated specific hole for the play offs (the order will be 14, 17 then 11). Rather than playing the lanes as the teams we will adopt a penalty shootout play off decider.

Each team captain will nominate the playing order of their team (if a team of 4 plays a team of 3 then one of the 4 will be 'dropped').

The playing order is given to the referee for the play off.

Teams toss to see who goes first.

Player 1 from team A then plays the lane - score is recorded (gimmes are allowed)

Player 1 from team B then plays the lane - score is recorded.

Lowest score wins the play off...

However if scores are tied then it's player 2's turn.

Then 3, then 4, then 1 and so on....

If all 4 play the lane and it's still not settled then we move onto the 2nd lane and so on.

2) Practice shots / free practice

There will be no practice shots at the start of each round

There will be a 15 minute free practice window before the semi finals to give the teams a chance to familiarise themselves with the 6 lanes not in the group stages.

Full details of the event can be found at http://www.minigolf.org.uk/joomla/index.php?view=details&id=147&option=com_eventlist&Itemid=56

Absolutely immense right through the teams, all played good minigolf in the best spirit - KMGC showed the way yet again how clubs should come together on days like this. Great performances from all there representing Kent - my team mates were all awesome & a real pleasure to play with but KMGC are the winners here - that's every one of us 12.

Matty really enjoyed himself & many thanks once again to his Hailcat team mates Kathryn, Owen & the great Captain Marion who looked after him so well, I really appreciate it all of you cheers

A great day to be a Hellcat, Hurricane or a Spitfire - team Kent rules once again! #5

VTK cheers cheers cheers

Wow what an amazing day!!!!!!

Congratulations firstly to Sean, Adam, Andy and Marc. What a great achievement to come out of that group and then produce the key performances in the final.

The newly named HailCats, your attitude throughout the day was inspirational and it was clear that we have found a coach in the ranks for future competitions. Great work captain DT....

Finally to my Hurricanes, Tony, Paul and Ed. We were tested by the Hellcats, Stung (for a while) by the Wasps and pegged back by the Pirates but it was FUN! Thanks for you faith and support in the 3rd place playoff, each of you played your part when called upon and What a result 6&5!!!

As VC, it was great to see us all celebrate at the end as one, as Team Kent.

An awesome day for the club.

I feel so proud to be part of this historic moment for the club and am honoured to be able to line up alongside the Hellcats, Hurricane and the Spitfires in our fantastic club.

Everyone of our 12 players did themselves and the club proud today - I can only echo Andy, Marc and Scott's comments - what a day!

Special mention again for the mighty Hellcats - Matty, Owen, Kate and Marion demonstrated everything that makes this club great. A truly epic display of team spirit, fight, determination and class. We salute all four of you!

Brilliant to see the Hurricanes on the podium and of course a big shout out the my fellow Spitfires for bringing the title home.

The photos below say it all.... VTK!!

What an awesome day! I'm so proud to be a member of the KMGC, never more so than tonight.

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Eds great putt and ace to give The Hurricanes their 3rd place and Scotts jubilant celebration, Cheering on The mighty Spitfires to their 5th Championship title, but mostly playing with Kate, Matty and Owen who did me and the KMGC proud at every hole in every round, I am teary just thinking about it!

The KMGC all played superbly and I cannot wait for next year!

Thanks for your comments but I just wanted the Hailcats to play at their best, it was a pleasure x VTK x

I don't quite pin down why but I think that was my favourite out of all the CC's I've been involved in,
I think a lot of factors all added up made this one extra special.

Love those pics of the whole KMGC squad on the bridge too - it sums it all up nicely. I notice Scott was being careful on there though Very Happy

Paul & Owen in the KMGC club colours, who'd have thought it before now but two really great additions to the club, can't imagine why anyone would think they'd enjoy things more elsewhere.

I would add that the two battles we had with Camb/Ess were epic, there was some serious minigolf played by both teams in both matches, very tense stuff virtually throughout - matchplay's great when that happens!
