PUTTERMANIA II - Sunday March 2nd - Sidcup

Sounds like a great KMGC Day, actually, there's never been a bad one. Shame I missed it but I'm pretty sure I won't be doing another marathon so I will play mini golf instead of running, I tend to feel better the next day! Interested to see what colour tops we'll be wearing, another great idea from the ideameister!

There were a couple of stipulations - it can't be either black or orange otherwise the winners have free reign. I did mention that a combination of Old Gold and Black would be acceptable... strangely this doesn't appear to be taken up as the likely option

Really enjoyed the day (apart from the end result of course).

A pleasure to play as part of Team Tony with our captain deserving better given the effort and leadership on display throughout the day. Round 3 was the killer and even with the master plan for round 4 in terms of playing order that Tony came up with, we knew we were up against it. The team gave it everything (as we did in every hole in every match) but we just couldn't pull back the deficit in the end.

Congrats to the victors - some brilliant performances - Adam & Marion were a deadly duo and took maximum points each from the first 3 rounds, and with Mark and Dave also going unbeaten throughout the 4 rounds, they were a hard act to beat.

At least we know that all of this matchplay experience - handling the pressure, the tension and the high standard of play - will bode well as the KMGC go all out to dominate at the BMC's later in the year.

Dear constant reader, imagine the scene... I settle down to read the Puttermania report, particluarly looking forward to reading about the epic first round clash between the two 2-time British Matchplay Champions that produced high class minigolf, drama and of course, a victory for the Bird and what do I find? 6 words in total!!! Outrageous bias from the on course reporter!
