Have updated the KIT table on the website following yesterdays rounds with Scott & Marion (who both managed to lower their average).

Latest updated results table for the KIT...

http://www.kentminigolfclub.co.uk/Kent%20Invitational%20Tournament%202009.htm

Chappers, DT & Freebird all managing to knock off a few scores - FB with a 35 (getting rid of a 36), Chappers with a 38 (dropping a 43) and DT with a 42 & 43 (knocking off a 44 & 45).

Remember the Megabowl 4 rounds all count towards the KIT... and no doubt there will be one of two of us down at Strokes again over the next couple of weekends (just put the details in the Friendly section if you are making the trip down).

Got a quick round in today with a 34 which knocks off a 40 - 6 shots gone reducing my average for KIT by a whole stroke - yeah!

A great day of scoring for the KIT with the KMGClooking very strong with the British Open just around the corner.

Latest updated table can be found here.

PB equalling scores from Marc (34) and Scott (33) and a new PB (and equalling the course record) from Freebird. With a few hole/ball combos changed following earlier rounds I had an average front 9 (played the course in hole order) hitting par on 7 holes, an ace at the 4th and a 3 at the seventh and then put in my greatest ever back 9.

Hatrick of aces at holes 10, 11 & 12 - with another couple of aces at the 14th and 17th and then had a shot at the 18th for a 30... rolled up an inch short but can't complain.
cheers cheers cheers

Welcome to the 31 club FB! Wink Ace on the 17th too, something I have yet to do! Also in my last 31 at the Megabowl I was putting the 18th for a 30 & lipped out, I feel your pain! Smile
Nice to see you experiment with other balls, I found out a while back that you need quite a variation at Strokes, which says a lot about the course complexities. I use 9 different balls, I've tried less (and more!) but settled with it now. Just gotta be consistent!
Good scores from improving Scott & Chappers too, in not completely ideal conditions. The KMGC is getting stronger!

Only his 38 counts.

Bring on the weekend!

Yet another fantastic day at Strokes. Damp felt was good practice for possible conditions at the weekend. Plenty of decent unofficial scores and one KIT round (33) with Matt (41).

Can't wait for the last two events of the season - very excited at what could happen!

Back down again tomorrow for one last session. Very Happy

Your 33 gives you a 1 shot lead for the Phase 2 final and as such I think it's time for...

KIT factoid Number 1:

The player leading the KIT at the end of phase 1 has never won it

Yep - well played Marc and commiserations to Scott... just didn't get anything going for him in the final round.

Final results as follows:

Rank Name Club R1 R2 R3 Tot Avg Diff Par Ranking points
1 Marc 'Chappers' CHAPMAN KMGC 33 35 32 100 33.5 3 -8 200
2 Sean 'Freebird' HOMER KMGC 34 36 37 107 36.5 3 -1 100
3 Scott 'Donkey Gringo' LANCLEY KMGC 35 32 43 110 37.5 11 +2 50
4 Rocky 'Harry Putter' BULLIN KMGC 37 35 42 114 38.5 7 +6
5 Marion 'Double Trouble' HOMER KMGC 40 40 42 122 41.0 2 +14

Scott took away the best round of the day trophy as Marc already bagged the KIT trophy. Scott also took the aces prize after being tied with Rocky and myself with 7 across the 2 rounds (Marc & Marion both had 6 by the way).

Good days play - sets up everything nicely for the KO tomorrow (will the factoid about the KIT & the KO also be broken tomorrow?)
