Details of Doubles now confirmed:
The official BMGA Doubles Championship 2011 at the Four Ashes Golf Centre in Dorridge in the West Midlands.
The event will follow the same format as the 2010 competition (details of which can be found here) with a maximum of 16 pairs (32 players) being split into 4 leagues (via a random draw).
8 teams have already confirmed in the first 24 hours so please get in quick if you dont want to miss out on this event!
Each match will be a 12 hole tie, matchplay rules. In the league stages there are 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw. After the round robin stage, the top 2 teams in each league will progress through to the quarter finals to play for positions 1-8. The bottom 2 teams in each league will progress to play for positions 9-16. ALl draws for the subsequent quarter finals and semi finals will be random!!
All teams will play 6 matches - win all 6 and you will be crowned the 2011 BMGA British Doubles Champions!!
On the Sunday players can practice from 9.00am with the first round of matches teeing off from 9.30am
