2010 Orlando Series
During our longer than planned stay in Orlando, FL, we played a total of twenty one 18-hole rounds on twenty one 18-hole courses, including a day out on the 12th of April in which we played 6 courses.
5/4/10- Pirates Island West Vine Street, Kissimmee. 36 holes.
Pirate themed adventure golf course, pretty good in our opinion. It was the founder of Pirate’s Island who coined the expression “adventure golf” in the 1980s. (Tim will no doubt prove this wrong)

Pirate themed adventure golf, owned by Pirate’s Island. We think that Cove is their easier version of Island. Good course.

8/4/10- Congo River Golf, 6312 International Drive. 36 holes.
Explorer themed adventure golf, featuring lakes, live alligators, crashed plane, jeep. Just beneath Storm and Der Stuka rides at Wet n Wild water park. Ok course but main problem being the very uneven side walls. Rebound shots impossible.

12/4/10- Winter summerland. 36 holes.
Disney’s miniature golf course. No par 2s, every hole is par 4,3 or 1. Very annoying, Disney-ish Christmas theme, obstacles included putting over Santa’s belly etc. Christmas music playing non-stop. Each hole has a silly name and a silly rhyme about it. One name was “Driving a hard toboggan”. Tony’s favourite rhyme was... “To get your ball to the hole, you need a little “elf control.””

12/4/10- Fantasia Gardens. 36 holes.
Two contrasting Disney courses. The gardens course is similar to winter summerland in style but with a musical theme. The (fairly incredible) fairways course is the longest course in the world with holes ranging from 60ft-103ft in length. Every hole is a miniature version of a golf hole with fairways, rough, bunkers, dog legs and no side walls to prevent the ball leaving the lane. There are also huge undulations in the “fairways”.
