Football predictions

With the end of the season in sight, how about a little predictions contest?



I’ll start things off.



League Champions: Man Utd

Runners Up: Arsenal

Champions League: Chelsea and Man City

Relegated: Wigan, Birmingham and Blackburn

FA Cup: Man City

Champions League: Barcelona

Pretty similar thinking from myself...

Champions League: Real Madrid (though I tipped Chelsea before the start of the season and I have a hunch for Shakhtar Donetsk)

According to my previous predictions Chelsea will record a shock victory tonight!!

Back to reality and it's going to be 3-2 - could go either way but I think Man U might just edge it in the 88th minute.

2-0 pretty average game, messi after about 30 mins, iniesta after about 80, barca to dominate throughout apart from a short spell of man u pressure around 50-65 mins.

if that all comes true i'll wish i'd laid some bets...

Barca 1-0 United

2-1 Barcelona but it will be a better match then last time

1-0 Man U

A first half Giggs goal and just hanging on till half time as Barca throw the sink at them. 2nd Half resumes with more pressure from Barca follow by a flurry of spurned chances to seal it from Man U. A nervy last 5 mins as Van der S. produces a career best double save or possibly a pen save to win the European Cup.

Other than that, I don't have a clue....

I actually feel sorry for Man Utd. Apart from starting with 13 players and hoping the referee wouldn't notice there's not a lot more they could have done. Was just glad to see Barca play as well as they have done for most of the last 2 seasons.

Spot on as usual Michael, Barca wiped the floor with a very good team, their passing is good viewing for neutrals. I can't see anyone raising their game enough next season either.

So Big Sam is about to start blowing bubbles. I'm guessing Mr X is not a Happy Hammer right now?

Not entirely overjoyed Michael but with McClaren in the frame early on I was very worried. Big Sam has stated in the past that he reckons he could manage Real Madrid or Barcelona, here's a stepping stone.
He says he wants to manage WHU to play the West Ham way only win more - we'll see. Probably will do in the Chumpionship though!
