The Gringo

The Gringo

Chappers, Rocky and I talked about this and I wondered what others would think.....

This tournament would be all about Aces.... We were talking about someone who after the first day realising their not in with a shout and decide to just concentrate on the most Ace's prize. Here the "Donkey Gringo Classic" is born.....

So a competion where:

1. Play each hole but have just one stroke to get an Ace. If you get it excellent, if not you end up scoring a (3 or 7 that's up for discusion.)
OR
2. You continue to play srokes from the holes tee off until you get an Ace then you can move on to the the next hole. (this way you could win on a kind of match play format or total round.)(This format wouldn't have to be the whole 18 holes it could just be a select 9 holes, ones that are Ace through Skill like holes 2 or 11 (Andy's the expert at that hole, AS long as the Rebels aren't attacking! Laughing )

Would be interested in what other members think. Is the Donkey Gringo Classic a Gorgeous idea or no go????????

Gorgeous idea! I think maybe use all 18 holes but decide beforehand on the score of each hole if the Ace is missed,ie; If you miss an ace on 1 (easy, or should be!), score 3 if you miss on hole 2 (harder) you score 2?
That way there would be some interesting scores!
Just keep the rebels away! clown

Of course it's gorgeous!

Everybody should play 18 as per usual and record a one or a zero on the scorecard with one shot per hole regardless of hole difficulty (it evens out as everyone plays the same 18 holes).

At the end of each round add up all the 1's and whoever has the highest score wins over three rounds..cos it'll be quick! Doesn't matter which order you play the holes either.

The DG Classic is born!!!!

Like the Exall idea and to keep it up to date the hole scoring will depend on the stats from this year's Ace stats from the BO...

So:
Hole one penalty 3 strokes
Hole two 3 strokes
Hole three 2 strokes
Hole four 3 strokes
Hole five 2 strokes
Hole six 2 strokes
Hole seven 2 strokes
Hole eight 2 strokes
Hole nine 3 strokes
Hole ten 2 strokes
Hole eleven 2 strokes
Hole twelve 3 strokes
Hole thirteen 3 strokes
Hole fourteen 3 strokes
Hole fifteen 2 strokes
Hole sixteen 3 strokes
hole seventeen 2 strokes
Hole eighteen 3 strokes

Total penalties 44 strokes close to the average for the whole field on the first day I recall...

Like it! That way it's not only Aces, it's which holes you ace! May be an idea to have 1-3 stroke penalties though, 5, 7, 15 & 17 are very hard to ace so they could be the lowest penalty holes?
