The 2014 CUP CAKE CLASSIC - Hastings - 05/01/14

Drum roll please...

The first event of the KMGC's 2014 calendar is confirmed.

The 2014 CUP CAKE CLASSIC at the Hastings Seafront courses (yes courses!!).

Sunday 5th January 2014

11am start (£10 day rate payable to the course for unlimited practice up to 11am and entry into the CCC).

2 rounds of strokeplay (the lowest counting towards the 2014* KIT) - one on the Crazy Golf Course and one on the Pirate Course followed by a final round of Crazy Crazy rules (on the Crazy Golf Course) to decide the 2014** champion (currently held by HIOK**).

Single ball rule for all three rounds with a difference this year – Kent Open ball for rounds 1 & 2 and official 2013 WCGC coloured balls for the final round!! (NB I will be able to hire out balls to anyone without a KOB for a £1 per ball fee)

Sausage rolls will be provided and feel free to bring along assorted festive treats to share!

I will send out email invites to all the club and honourary guests and look forward to seeing you all there!!! (if you can confirm via this thread of via email - be useful to know the numbers to ensure suitable supplies of snacks!!).

And for those who are wondering where 2009's event is - 2008 was held in December but from 2010 onwards the CCC has been held in January so we aren't missing one but the dates switched!!

As it's the first event of the 2014 KIT I've got a few 'tweaks' to the format but need to know who's playing this weekend.

I'll put up a list of who I know is a definite later and expect to read about the new format tomorrow!!

I would love to be at the CC this weekend but as with Christmas day and Boxing day where the NHS ambulance shifts deprived my kids of their Mum the shifts have also managed to deprive me of any festive minigolf   

All going well, you should though be able to have some Match play fixtures if you've entered??? For Sunday.

Shame you can't make it Scott - but no doubt we'll see you soon (Star City maybe?)

Given the timings of the day we may struggle to have time for any post CCC matchplay fixtures but if the draw's done then at least people can see how we are for time on the day...

We may look at a start closer to 10.30 on Sunday... but of course ideally will ensure everyone is there before we do tee off!

The slightly earlier start will ensure we get everything completed before the weather 'turns'.

And watch out for a link for a live online draw soon (with the draw for the first KIM pairings taking place on Saturday!!)
