There are now just 2 weeks to go until I run the London Marathon on 13 April. The long months of winter training are almost over and I am now into that frustrating pre-race period known as 'tapering'. Over the last 3 months, I have clocked up more than 300 miles and I now have to focus on staying fit and ready for the big day.
I am raising funds for the Joliba Trust and their inspiring work among some of the poorest communities in Mali. Thank you to everyone for your wonderfully generous support so far. With your help, I have managed to raise over £1200, enough to supply clean water to a village school in Mali. I now want to press on and reach my target of £2000, which would pay for a well to be repaired, bringing safe, clean water to an entire village.
Joliba Trust have low overheads and all of the money will be spent where it is needed. Have a look at their website at www.jolibatrust.org.uk. Every little helps. In Mali, a small amount of money goes a long way.
To sponsor me, please visit my fundraising page at www.justgiving.com/tonykellylondonmarathon. If you are a taxpayer, remember to tick the Gift Aid box, which adds 25% to your donation at no extra cost. Alternatively, if you see me, you can give me some cash and I will make sure it is added to the Just Giving page.
Please look out for me on the day if you are watching on TV or along the route. I will be wearing a yellow Saffron Striders running vest and my number is 24314. I am hoping to get around the course in under 4 hours but it is going to be tough. Please support me and help me to keep going over those last few difficult miles!
If you would prefer to wait until I have completed the marathon, my Just Giving page will stay open for 3 months after the event.
Thank you so much for your support.
