If more clubs recruited players as the KMGC has lately, minigolf would boom! Probably down to FB's enthusiasm & powers of persuasion though. 
You only have to look at courses on a sunny day to see it's extremely popular, it's getting some of the punters to get a bit more serious that's the problem. Possibly course owners could do more by selling pro equipment & balls etc but there wouldn't be much in it for them.
