PostSubject: 2013 KMGC EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA   Sun Mar 10, 2013 11:52 am

The second of the seasons KMGC 'Majors' is just 3 weeks away!!

Well it's that time of the year again - and you are all cordially invited to the KMGC Easter Eggstravaganza - Easter Sunday 31st March at the now traditional EE venue, the Pirate Cove in Bluewater!

3 rounds of strokeplay (all on the Smugglers Course this year) and as the main Bluewater Shopping centre is actually closed (the one day of the year!) it's probably going to be relatively quiet again (a marked contrast to most courses in the South East if the sun is out).

The course will be open from 10am and all being well we will once again get the £10 day rate (I will confirm this next week when I speak to the course and confirm in the email invite going out shortly). We will tee-off the comp from 11am which should give everyone ample time to get to the course - and as always it promises to be a great way to spend Easter Sunday.

Let me know if you fancy it (friends and family also welcome) - and hopefully we will see you all at the Pirate Cove in a 3 weeks time (for a festivity of minigolf, larks and maybe even a spot of chocolate thrown in as well).

All the best,

Sean.

VTK!

KMGC Easter Eggstravaganza hall of fame:

2012 - Sean Homer (Pirate Cove)
2011 - Sean Homer (Pirate Cove)

Entries starting to come in for the EE... email invite being sent out to the good and great of the KMGC (and a few selected guests as is the tradition!) by the weekend once i've had a chat with the course.

And who knows, it might even be a warm and sunny day!!

Although I'd never personally turn down home made snags Alien, the course is right outside the food hall at Bluewater, which (bafflingly) stays open whilst the shops are shut -plenty of grub available! cheers

To the new members who haven't played a full season yet - don't panic about the weather for next Sunday, Freebird is a legend at arranging decent weather for KMGC competitions! cheers

Good point. Mrs Alien has promised brownies to bring along which are too good.

No you can you any balls you want for the EE.

There will be a KMGC 'Hole In One' side competition at some point in the proceedings which will be a course ball only comp (£1 to enter... more details next week).

After seeing a long range forecast, even I'm starting to think maybe this is one that FB can't swing, bring your gloves etc!

Rightly so... here's what i've sorted out (cold but sunny) - not too shabby given the past few weeks (but will of course try harder for 2014!!)

A couple of final points...

1) Let me know if there are any other people expected tomorrow (other than those on the entrants list previously posted) so I can ensure they are able to get the £10 day rate

2) Don't forget the clock's 'spring' forward tonight to BST!!

3) Course opens at 10.

4) Tournament starts at 11.

5) Hole In One Challenge between rounds 2 & 3

6) Looking forward to a great day in the sun Wink

Sean, Mrs Alien now unable to attend (due to weather), Ollie should be ok although he managed to projectile vomit a couple of times last night so is a bit out of sorts. Brian and I had a couple (actually eight) rounds earlier so we should be raring to go.

A great day, great company, top class minigolf and a few cakes as well - what better way to spend Easter Sunday.

Well played Michael - look forward to trying to take the title back next Easter!! - and well played to Ollie, Ryan and Matty for some great PB's on the course.

A few photos from the day can be found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/13680867@N02/sets/72157633130383499/ (unfortunately the camera moved on the group shots so apologies to the Volcano for him being chopped off the side!! At least we got him for his presentation photo!!).

Round by round Results at http://www.kentminigolfclub.co.uk/2013EGGSTRAVAGANZA/result.htm

Report to come...

Thanks FB & DT for another fine day's mini golf, great org as ever & the weather was ok too. Course is excellent, if they fix a couple of dodgy cups it could be superb! Well done to Michael, another seriously good performance, great scores all day, excellent stuff! Matty enjoyed himself, thanks to Seth, Marion & Ryan for playing with him.
VTK!

BTW, some very interesting stats from the lane statistics, not one ace on H4, very surprising, not such a surprise on H9!
Also Ollie's two aces on H3 - outstanding! cheers

Great tournament Sean. Quality play from the top 4, especially Michael, 2nd and 1st isn't bad for two days work!
Pleased to improve from my 0 aces of two years ago. cheers
I didn't play too well at the weekend but 3rd and joint 5th isn't bad for my 'comeback'.
Thanks to all my playing partners across the weekend. Very Happy

Thanks all for a great tournament, first time and not the last. Thanks for the comment about Ollie. His stats don't lie, ie he plays much better when he doesn't have me in his ear giving him advice! (I am sure he wouldn't mind not being with me!)
