Happy to open up the flood gates. We are new to serious minigolf, starting off with our metal clubs before realising the course rubber/plastic clubs gave a better connection. Does anyone have a link to any info as to what to look for in a club and the various pros and cons of different types. I tried reading German pages without success.

Thanks

This is about as good as you can get Alien:

http://nifo.se/shop/eng/index.htm

Nifo take Paypal & ship to the UK too. I believe elsewhere you can get them cheaper though, Will would know he just got one but I'm not sure who from!

Hi Alien UK,

There are a few places where you can get clubs from. The 2 German companies you need to email to sort details with!! I will send you a PM with those details on!!

Links to those German companies:

http://www.minigolfshop.de/en/tournament-and-hobby-equipment/Putters/

http://shop.pingvin-minigolf.de/Minigolfschlaeger/

Nifo clubs seem to be used mostly, very good quality. By ordering from the German companies the prices are a but cheaper than Nifo!!!

Thats always the best way to start, you're welcome to try my Nifo for a few shots, Will's putter is very nice, have a swing of that & you'll want one! Smile

Thanks. Nifo Ryner seems to be a favourite, but a lot of cash (cheaper than a good cricket bat though)

Good point!

The 3D putter with the infinite opotionality and adjustment (which probably does your head in) - I guess they are not cheap? Not that I want one but am curious.

I have one Alien & it's possibly the most expensive putter available but I may be wrong! I used to use it & did very well, then I decided to change putter & went downhill fast haha! I'll bring it Sunday & you can have a go with it too. It's actually very good but as soon as you play a duff putt out come the allen keys as it was obviously the putter's fault!

I bought it a while ago for £109 including a spare head, weights, allen keys & putter bag. Last time I looked (a while ago) it was £117 plus shipping from Germany. Possibly (probably) more now!

Wow - but something that will get a lot of use, so not a bad investment

It's well worth buying as good as you can get, in most cases you get what you pay for but some cheaper putters are ok. The 3d putter I would say is almost a great putter but it has a few minor faults, if I was an engineer I'd make one only better! Smile

Another newbie here if I can join in on this topic?

I played in the Open today and noticed a number of 'pink' faced puters. I just wondered what they were?

Most of the pink faced putters are Fun-Sports putters. The Fun-sports putters are cheaper than the big name putters but are still very good putters.

You can have a look at them at www.fun-sports-germany.com

The Weapon of choice of a Two Time World Champion and multi title holder - what possible recommendation could be better? (just go for the Blue rubber) Wink
Alex Perfect Par had a very nice new Magnum Putter too, well worth a look it's top quality!

I've decided to flog my 3D putter if anyone's interested, they come in a light or heavy head and this one's heavy - with all five weights inside it's seriously weighty. I have all of the weights & a spare mid green head, both 3D Allen Keys & an unused 3D Putter Bag. The shaft is carbon graphite, with a midsize Crown pistol grip. I also have a spare steel shaft cut down to a kid's size which could be removed & a longer shaft inserted for about £20 at a golf shop.
£60 the lot is reasonable I reckon, I hate to think what it's all cost me Smile
I may bung it on Ebay Germany if no takers as they like them there!

Definition of frustrating: pondering buying a putter for a week, debating it, justifying it and then finally pressing the BUY button..... to be told out of stock with no restock date known!!!!

I'm going for a Ryner. Luckily it's Christmas soon! And there are too many balls!

Seems the whole world is out of stock - gutted!

If anyone knows where I could fins a cupboard full of Nifo Ryner's I'd appreciate the knowledge! (and maybe a junior?).

***EDIT: got one. Thanks to a bit of collaboration between Harry Rothe and Game N Fun it seems I've located the last Ryner in the wild! (I guess 90cm is the size as I just touch a shade over 6ft)

Great stuff & you have the only ball you'll ever need already (VTK) so there's no stopping you now Alien!
