From the March BMGA Newsletter...
I am delighted to confirm that the 2012 World Adventure Golf Masters (WAGM) is taking place in the UK for the second year running, with the Pirate Course at the Hastings seafront once again hosting the competition on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th May. Following discussions between the WMF and myself regarding the entry criteria for this years WAGM I am pleased to announce that there are no restrictions regarding entries for the 2012 competition (other than the ceiling for entries is set at a maximum of 72 players) and that entries are now open to all players (not just restricted to National team players).
Entry to the event is £50 which includes free-practice sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, the official opening and closing ceremonies at the White Rock Hotel on Thursday and Saturday evenings along with a guaranteed minimum of 6 competition rounds across the two tournament days.
The format will mirror that of the 2011 event and carries an estimated prize fund in excess of £1000. The competition will have a team event (all teams will consist of 4 players) running in tandem with the individual event. All players play four individual rounds on Friday and a further two on Saturday. There is then a 7th round for the top 6 teams to decide the team title and then a final 8th round for the top 18 individual players after 6 rounds of strokeplay. Last years event saw Germany take both the individual and team titles and we are keen to see a strong turnout for Great Britain in both the individual and team events in 2012 to take on all comers (players can highlight on their entry form if they would like to also be part of the team competition – GBR teams of four will be selected from this pool of players once initial entries have been received).
Further details of the event along with a brilliant offer on accommodation at the White Rock Hotel can be found in the official WMF invite at http://www.minigolfsport.com/pdf1/1113.pdf
As mentioned earlier, places are limited so if you would like to take part in this event then complete the application form ASAP which can be found at http://www.minigolf.org.uk/joomla/attachments/059_WAGM%202012%20APPLICATION%20FORM.doc
If you have any questions regarding the WAGM then please feel free to contact me at chairman@minigolf.org.uk
Kind regards,
Sean.
