Congratulations to the whole club for a great result today. It wasn't a win for 4 of us, it was a win for us all. A great way to end a great year for KMGC. A one two would have been perfect but the Hurricanes can be proud of how they did. It was just that The Green were fantastic on home turf.
Thanks to Sean and Marion for running the competition and for everything they have done for KMGC over the years. It's great that we have finally won the CC for the club and especially our experienced players - Sean, Scott, Andy and Marion and the other players in the club who have contributed so much before this year who have put so much into KMGC over the years. This is the first of many CCs.
Andy, Marc and Sean were incredible teammates and played great today (as usual). We were strong all the way through, very consistent throughout and when we did lose holes it was to good play from our opponents rather than us messing up. It's all very well being big favourites beforehand but I thought we were excellent.Whenever I messed up, the guys behind got the 3 good scores. We only had 1 edgy period in that semi final and that was surely down to the black shirts! A great performance over 5 rounds, especially against Planet Hastings twice. And of course Sean was a great captain.

Congratulations to Sean, Andy, Marc and Michael it was a real pleasure to see you pickup the British Club Championship trophy today.....

I would also like to thank my GREAT team Tony, Marion and Adam, I know that we didn't quite get the result that we wanted in the end but I really think those who played against us fully appreciated the games were closer then the final result told.

Marion 4th place two years running it just goes to show you should play a little more often then you do!

Tony great lead out for the rest of us follow,thank you. By the way for me you will be now know as KMGC's version of "Deep thought", every permutation calculated.

Adam I would really like to thank you for the maturity you showed in the position you played today, outstanding! I really look forward to seeing your developement next season.

I think Michael & Scott have said just about everything there is to say, there's a great team spirit at the KMGC that other clubs are very envious of, not to mention the massive depth of talent! We are also extremely fortunate to have FB & DT running the show, super enthusiastic organisers - many thanks for another great competition!
I'd also like to say thanks & well done to Marc, Michael & Sean, fantastic team mates & awesome players yesterday as always. The slightly nervous start in game 1 was soon overcome & as Michael said, whenever there was a muck up, the other three stepped up. Great team matchplay, well done all.
I was so overcome at the end I forgot my twenty quid!
Commiserations to the Hurricanes, fine opponents but we'd have all preferred to meet in the final, sadly not to be.
Also, well done Sean for the idea of Tim's send off dvd, possibly some people don't realise just how much Tim has done for minigolf in the UK, but it was a helluva lot & it was a very nice touch! We'll all miss him.

Very true Scott that third match seemed to wipe us both out the quality of play was extremely high. I naively assumed whoever won it would waltz to the final but you should never disregard Tim Davies and co. Terry played really well but we were shockingly poor. Like Adam said would happen, we were given the reprieve on hole 16 but it wasn't to be even if it did look and feel like every other shot I've played on that hole.

The(my)dream final didn't happened but at that point I think the Hornets were knackered and would probably have lost 10 up.

The Spitfires were imperious, well oiled Rolls-Royce engines ticking along nicely well done!

A terrific competition.

The KMGC are now the 2010 Club Champions and a fitting reflection of ALL of us in the club, not just the four of us that took the honours on the day.

We won it as the KMGC, and we can all proudly push into 2011 as the club to beat - a new dawn for the UK minigolfing scene.

It was a brilliant way to round off a vintage year for the club - it was just a shame that the Spitfires and the Hurricanes had to meet up in the semi's rather than the final. The Hurricanes, led in fine style (with a true captains stare!) by Wing Commander Lancley pushed us all the way in what was a very close encounter for the majority of the match but the Spitfires held their nerve to edge the tie in our 'classico' black tops (old school!). Thanks to Michael, Andy and Marc for not only being great team mates but also top class matchplay machines!!! Unstoppable all day!!

Just imagine how strong we are going to get in the coming years!! Makes me proud to wear the colours and stand side by side with the greatest bunch of club players and friends you could ask for.

And with the official rankings now updated to include the IT's and CC's we now have 7 players in the top 15 - a very welcome and deserved debut in the top 15 for Adam 'AK47' Kelly (the British Junior Champion no less!).

The great thing is how quickly the momentum is growing with us. The Spitfires team have been consistent all year, particularly since Sean won the BMC in July. Scott is in the top 15 for the first time having had his best 2 performances in majors, Tony has improved so much in the last 2-3 months and his belief is growing all the time and the same with Adam who I genuinely believe will be a top 3 player in 2012 - just think how good he is now with that putter, just imagine what he'll be like with a putter that is the right size!
Also, not that victories are everything, but the BMGA tournaments won from july onwards does make very good reading from a Kent perspective.
I'm not usually one for predictions but I honestly believe if we keep enjoying playing regularly and pushing each other to improve that next year we'll get 7 in the top 10, 3 in the top 5 and hopefully in Marc, the top spot plus a major. Yes, the competition is very strong but as Andy said we have a team spirit that is unmatched and the way we push each other to improve is very ominous for the rest.
You think Sean had it tough in picking the club championship teams this year? Just wait until next year. He might as well toss a coin. Although with his coin toss record yesterday, maybe not.

Just found the details of the European Cup on the WMF website;

Full dates - 29.09.2011 (Thurs) to 01.10.2011 (Sat) at Vergiate in Italy (entries have to confirmed and paid up with the WMF by end of August).

As soon as I get more info I will circulate accordingly.
